“The data-centric security space is increasingly important to our customers,” said Alan Kessler, president and CEO of Thales eSecurity. “The acceleration of sophisticated advanced persistent threats (APTs), in conjunction with the security demands of cloud adoption, big data and growing compliance requirements, afford us the opportunity to attract and retain world-class talent. We welcome them to the team and look forward to leveraging their considerable talents as we meet the growing demands of our customers and the industry at large.”

Radford is tasked with accelerating the company’s cloud strategy by developing partnerships with leading cloud service providers (CSPs). He joins Thales eSecurity from Symantec, where he spent more than five years driving business development within the rapidly evolving CSP market, the last three of which he served as a business development director for the company’s global strategic partnerships within the cloud space

Lewandowski will spearhead the expansion of Thales eSecurity’s presence in the U.S. federal market — across intelligence community, DOD and civilian accounts. In addition to leading the company’s federal sales team, he will manage the relationships with federal channel partners and systems integrators. Lewandowski’s background includes senior federal sales positions at VMware, Plan B Government Systems, SAS and Interwoven.

As CSO, Cates will be responsible for ensuring Thales eSecurity’s internal security profile remains robust, while also using his extensive Thales eSecurity product and industry subject matter expertise to engage with customers and partners. He first joined Thales eSecurity in 2003 as a systems engineer, and returned to the company in 2009 as director of field engineering and solutions architecture role.

As vice president of customer success, Tycksen will be leading Thales eSecuritys’s service, technical support and education teams. He came to Thales eSecurity from RNA Networks (acquired by Dell), where he was VP of engineering and operations. He held a similar role at SignaCert (acquired by Harris), and also served as CTO of Swan Island Networks and Preview Systems—the latter of which completed a successful IPO.
