Austria Card was founded in 1981 as a personalisation centre for eurocheque cards and eurocheques. In 1984, the first machines for the complete production of the plastic card, especially the eurocheque cards, went into operation. In 1987, the company moved into a purpose built production and administration estate. A team of specialists prepared programming for mobile telephones SIM cards, and this team developed to a competence centre for electronic payment transactions. Austria Card also developed its own EMV mask (ACE) for use as a standard solution together with its market partners. Austria Card partners with SafeNet ProtectServer to provide users with a card issuance and management solution.
