This 'Remote Application Security - WAF Gateway (SecureSphere) Course' focuses the WAF Gateway which is responsible for decrypting, inspecting, and potentially blocking traffic to defined web applications based on configuration
information supplied by the management server.
The course is intended for security administrators, security analysts, security engineers, and Web application developers who are responsible for securing and monitoring Web applications with SecureSphere.
The lessons are delivered in the form of a presentations and lab practice. For the hands on, the students will be supplied with a full virtual lab for the duration of the course. The are many modules, however, most topics are of a short duration. This is intentional to allow students easier self-pace their learning.
Certification is granted upon participating in the course and passing the relevant certification exam.
Sessions one through three will last seven hours and session four will last approximately four hours, depending on student interaction. Each session will include a 30 minute break; there will be four sessions in total, one session per day.

- Configure SecureShpere for an on-premises Web Application Firewall including ThreatRadar subscription services
- Evaluate the configuration of the Web Application Firewall to verify assets are protected
- Implement security controls using Policies and Followed Actions
- Configure Web Profiling and Active Blocking
- Analyze Violations and Alerts
- Perform best practice tuning tasks
- Integrate external web scanner data with SecureSphere and manage identified vulnerabilities.
- Configure SecureSphere Web Gateway to work in a Reverse Proxy deployment mode
- Full-day Capstone lab for concept reinforcement and certification prep
