The Thales and Google Cloud Partnership
Thales works with Google Cloud to enable teams to maintain their digital sovereignty without slowing cloud adoption or organic growth.
The collaboration began in 2020 as an initiative to improve enterprise data privacy across public and private clouds with advanced data protection and encryption.
Over the years, these innovations have included:
- The integration of CipherTrust Cloud Key Manager for Google Cloud, allowing customers to maintain full control over encryption keys beyond Google infrastructure.
- Thales strategic partnership with Google Cloud through the setting of the joint company S3NS, supporting European cloud sovereignty initiatives through the creation of a locally compliant, trusted cloud offering in France, helping many French companies migrate to the cloud safely.
- And extended digital sovereignty to Google Workspace by supporting it with Client-Side Encryption (CSE), external key management, and quantum-resilient data protection.
Through consistent innovations, the Thales and Google Cloud partnership has grown to embody a “sovereignty-by-design" approach where data control is built into cloud architecture at the outset.
