Vormetric Offers Rescue Program For Former NeoScale CryptoStor FC Disk Customers

January 9, 2008

SANTA CLARA, CA - January 9, 2008 - Thales eSecurity, the leader in data security management and enforcement solutions for files, databases and backup, today announced the availability of a rescue program to bring rapid, cost-effective relief to companies whose vital information was placed in jeopardy following the dissolution of NeoScale, Inc. in November 2007.

Customers who had purchased NeoScale's CryptoStor FC Disk product are unsupported, at risk, and in immediate need of an alternative solution because no purchasers have come forward to assume responsibility for NeoScale FC Disk technology. Thales eSecurity's rescue program is specifically designed to provide rapid, safe removal of FC Disk and its replacement with Thales eSecurity's highly acclaimed Data Security Expert™ solution.

The special rescue program for former NeoScale customers offers:

  • A free transition assessment to gauge impact and scope of work required to remove CryptoStor FC Disk from existing infrastructure. This assessment will be delivered at no charge by Vormetric data security and infrastructure experts
  • Special transition pricing and incentives to ease the financial burden on enterprises made vulnerable by NeoScale's corporate dissolution.
  • Professional services scheduling priority to remove the risk to data as quickly as possible.

Continuing a Tradition of Reversing Failures in Data Security Projects

This new program for former NeoScale customers, which is available immediately, is an extension of the "Get Operational by Thales eSecurity" program that has brought relief to numerous organizations frustrated by the failure of application- and column-level encryption projects. Thales has brought financial savings, strong data security, and improved database and infrastructure performance to customers that have been unable to achieve the complex integration required by application- and column-level approaches

"Thales has the right solution and is willing to put in the right resources to help NeoScale customers quickly remove the risk that is posed to their data by this unfortunate turn of events," said Richard Gorman, CEO of Thales. "Given our continued success in helping organizations that have failed application- and column-level projects quickly achieve their data security objectives through Thales solutions, we are confident that NeoScale customers will obtain the same positive experience."

Vormetric Data Security Expert is the only solution proven to provide true application- and databasetransparent security for any file, any database, anywhere, in both centralized and widely distributed environments. Thales eSecurity's unique approach, not only to encrypting, but also to wholly securing data via access control, integrity and audit features, allows organizations to utilize a single, extensible platform for protection of both online and backup data.

NeoScale tape encryption customers can also benefit from Thales eSecurity's partnerships with major storage and RDBMS vendors to easily shift their tape implementations. Thales is partnered with IBM to provide IBM Database Encryption Expert, which provides both online and backup encryption capability for DB2, and partnered with Symantec to provide the Media Server Encryption Option for NetBackup. Organizations interested in either partner solution may call their enterprise sales representatives directly.
