In December last year, Thales acquired Imperva, its ninth acquisition in as many years and the second largest in organization’s history. The integration allows Thales to help organizations discover and protect sensitive data anywhere, manage access, and secure all its paths.

With the acquisition, Thales adds Imperva’s partners to its extensive partner ecosystem, expanding its portfolio into data governance, data risk and analytics, and application security. Now boasting over 6700 organizations, including OEMs, MSPs, value added resellers and distributors, the Thales Partner Program and ecosystem is an investment into world-class products, creating more value for clients and reducing their risk exposure.

Thales’s primary route to market is with the channel, generating around 85% of its worldwide revenues via partners. Its unified program with Imperva will provide the best of both partner programs, support the development of both Thales and Imperva’s existing partner bases, and offer flexibility and choices for partners that provide selling options ranging from traditional reselling to managed security services and OEM relationships.

Here are some examples of how Thales and Imperva partners provide unique value to clients:

Secure Productivity - Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

There is a growing need to secure customer data in productivity tools such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and the proliferation of AI is adding to this need. Thales provides Double Key Encryption for Microsoft 365 and Client-Side Encryption for Google Workspace. It has partnered with Sada for Workspace security and Finchloom (a reseller partner) for Microsoft’s Copilot. Thales also started enablement and a go-to-market strategy with Deloitte advisory around protecting data in productivity tools and AI.

Application Security for SMEs – Vnetrix

Cybercriminals have increasingly targeted SMEs in recent years, as they don’t always have the scale and resources to make investments to protect themselves. Having worked with Imperva since 2015, Vnetrix, a UK based MSSP, recognized the opportunity to make the enterprise-grade Imperva Cloud Web Application Firewall (WAF) accessible and cost-effective for its SME clients. Vnetrix offers Imperva Cloud WAF for existing hosting clients and as a standalone solution for new customers. It provides SMEs with the flexibility they need by acting as either a reseller or managing the solution on clients’ behalf, billing on a subscription basis.

By deploying the Imperva Cloud WAF with Vnetrix, SMEs can strengthen the protection of their websites from a growing volume of security threats, simplify compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and demonstrate their commitment to security to customers, shareholders, and employees.

Confidential Computing - Intel, Microsoft, and Google Cloud

Organizations seeking to innovate in the cloud are increasingly concerned about securing the privacy and integrity of sensitive workloads, including personal information, financial information, intellectual property, and AI learning models. Thales partners with Intel, Microsoft, and Google Cloud to provide confidential computing and trusted cloud-independent attestation provided by the Intel Trust Authority (ITA) to protect data at rest, in motion, and in use.

Data Sovereignty

HPE GreenLake

Thales partners with the world’s leading hybrid cloud offering, HPE GreenLake, to fulfil customer demand for data security, data sovereignty, and compliance in their hybrid cloud estates. Hybrid Cloud deployments are on the rise. Driven by increased security compliance and data sovereignty regulations, enterprises and governments worldwide enforce data protection mandates such as customer-managed encryption key management across Hybrid Cloud and Multi-Cloud deployments.

Accenture and Oracle

Working with Accenture & Oracle, Thales supports national strategic sovereign clouds to ensure sensitive data stays within the national territory to meet both compliance & protection of sovereign data. Accenture enables customer migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) by leveraging Thales CipherTrust Cloud Key Management to maintain complete HYOK control of the encryption keys securing their sensitive data. Thales is extending this collaboration to include several telecoms, financial services, and healthcare customers who care about owning their data while using OCI.

The PQC Ecosystem

Thales’s Post Quantum Cryptography Ecosystem demonstrated its rapidly growing momentum at “Palooza 2” during RSA Conference 2024, bringing together Technology and GSI partners in an innovative thought-leadership forum. Featured partners included Accenture, Deloitte, DigiCert, evolutionQ, Garantir, Keyfactor, Kyndryl, IBM Consulting, InfoSec, NIST, SandboxAQ, Quantinuum, and Wells Fargo. Two examples of this include:

In conjunction with Thales, Keyfactor, and Quantinuum, IBM Consulting has created a consortium that delivers PQC-safe PKI, VPN, TLS, and code-signing use cases to enable customers to achieve PQC Readiness today.

Accenture launched the Quantum Security Maturity Index (QSMI), with founding signatories that include Thales, Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, and QuSecure, to enable customers to transition to PQC Readiness.

Secure Payments – Prime Factors

Today, many of the world’s leading financial services companies across six continents trust Thales payShield HSMs and Prime Factors BCSS software to secure their bespoke payment card issuance and acquiring applications. In addition to making it faster and easier for customers to implement and manage payShield HSMs, Prime Factors BCSS software enables hardware with key management, access controls, and audit logging and reporting to ensure compliance with global financial mandates.

The combined Thales-Imperva organization provides a comprehensive suite of security solutions, , strengthens relationships with partners, and offers better outcomes for enterprises.
