VP of Product Development Ashvin Kamaraju will Explain how to Extend Security Controls and Policies Outside the Datacenter
WHO: Ashvin Kamaraju, vice president of product development for enterprise encryption vendor Vormetric, Inc. Mr. Kamaraju is an expert on security, encryption, file systems, volume managers, storage, clustering and replication. He has held executive technology management positions with Symantec, VERITAS Software and Sun Microsystems where he contributed to the Solaris operating system. He has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati.
WHAT: The cloud is becoming an extension of the enterprise data center – a fast, scalable, ondemand environment for hosting applications, data, computing resources, and more. Public clouds, including infrastructure as a service and platform as a service, are replacing locked down data centers as organizations seek to leverage the cost savings and agility provided by on-demand services. However, for many organizations data security remains a barrier to the cloud. This session will explain how encryption can enable enterprises to avoid losing governance over their data when it resides in cloud infrastructures. Attendees will learn how:
- Encryption enables enterprises to avoid losing visibility into the custodianship of their data as it resides in cloud infrastructures
- Their organizations can apply remote encryption on data in the cloud
- To create and enforce access control policies, maintain separation of duties, and centralize key management for data center and cloud environments
WHERE: Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada
WHEN: Monday, September 19, 2011 from 1:30 – 3:00
HOW: Please contact Marc Gendron at marc@mgpr.net or 781-237-0341 to schedule a conversation with Mr. Kamaraju at the conference or via conference call.
