キーボルトは、暗号鍵とシークレットを保護するために使用される安全かつ信頼できるメカニズムです。キーボルトを使用することで、暗号鍵を生成・保存し、すべてのアプリケーションとサービスに対して共通の信頼の基点を確立することができます。またキーボルトは、データ暗号鍵の暗号化/復号化や、シークレット（パスワード、SSH鍵など）の保護といった暗号化操作も実行することができます。
